Been playing for 3-5 days straight. Tried several team compositions, but I usually die when I feel like enemy outscales me.Last game I played dungeon crawl map and all was going ok till my characters were level 9 and I couldn't kill more than 2 mob camps without using several godbeards.I can't understand the scaling in this game. Do enemies and shops scale with time? Godbeards cost more on day 6 than on day 1?Is it true that you should put your taunter in the middle?I mostly play with with hunter/ herbalist and third class busker/ministrel.How do you get ahead of the curve in this game? By the time I get to Parid I'm usually lvl4. Mind Lord camp is lvl5. So I have to do a lot of catching up.
So far I have been tring to buy pernament evasion (rogue brew) in all night markets and scale that way.I play all my games on apprentice of course. (I'm no expert at this game, so take my advice with a grain of salt)Though apprentice is more forgiving, I find the game heavily relies on being as optimal with your resources as possible - having a healer that can use a godsbeard during combat to basically get 3x use out of it is a particularly helpful one off the top of my head.Think of movement across the map, and the time it takes, as a resource as well. I often spend a few minutes every 5 turns or so to map out what story points I want to hit next, and get a rough idea of how many battles I want to get into on the way.
This is where I struggled the most, in finding the balance between leveling up my party at a decent clip while not allowing too much time to pass to let the game outpace me. One other tip I've seen floating around is to always take the Chaos-reducing quest, as you get roughly the same amount of gold for it than if you take the gold quest, item is rarely worth more/better than the gold, or any other loot you find along the way.In your case specifically, although the Mindbreaker camp is lvl 6, (if my memory serves me) there are a handful of side-quests of a lower level that you can choose to accomplish before tackling the camp, as well as (if you're lucky) a few mini-dungeons along the way.Hopefully this was helpful, good luck!.

Yeah, I have been stacking godsbeards, but late game dungeons (demon cave) take like 3-4 per and final dungeon in main mode could take 10 godsbeards I guess. I got to final boss in ice mode just to realise I'm out of godsbeards but have 1600 gold.My main problem is scaling. As far as I know in main campaign, when you get the last quest to kill Vexor, time freezes? So you can basically kill camps over and over and wait for towns to refresh?I read somewhere that pre-release (March) patches had Vexor super hard and he is tuned down?My question for you specifically - what party compostion did you use to beat the game? (Also please say if the char with the most vitality/evasion was in the middle).
I'm definitely no expert but here's a few tips, just in case.grind lore to unlock more things before worrying about 'winning'.take the boat out to sea caves to grind exp and gear, these are usually levels 4-6 in the second area.make sure to upgrade your herbalists pipe so those godsbeard are maximum effectevasion is still king in the game.if you have a character with high awareness don't be afraid to ambush to fight solo mobs as neededi also take the chaos reducing quest to give myself plenty of time to grind and level up gear. I'm no expert either but I found when you get to the higher levels you have to have at least one person in your team that is capable of stunning or otherwise resetting the 'leader' mob so you can avoid their big hits. If you let some of these boss mobs get two hits your guy is dead, not much you can do other then try and stun them or otherwise take them out of battle. Also couldn't imagine trying the big bosses without a woodcutter that is capable of hitting for 50 HP at times. Yea he's slow but he's also capable of some big time hits. So yes, everything scales based on your level, and the problem you are having is that your gear is under-leveled by the time you hit 9/10. What I started doing is never taking unnecessary XP, from statues, from mobs, those little world encounters that grant xp based on a primary stat. I just go from town to town to get enough quests that grant scourge reduction, gold or specific items to make sure my characters are properly geared going forward, noting what items that town has that I want.
My last dungeon crawl I stayed away from the herbalist with low health pool and opted for a scholar with a party heal tome. This time Im going busker for my healer, even higher health pool, as the mobs seemed to keep targeting the scholar late game over and over. I am finding a big early benefit is making sure you use a Hunter or Trapper to initiate some fights in the word above, as when you ambush them you get a few more strikes in an isolate them from the their mates.I am also finding that 'party heal' items and characters are mighty useful for making one godsbeard heal everyone! In addition some times I drop a camp and 'raid from the camp' so my guys can heal up in between, and drop back to heal.Look around for statues and totems you can tribute to as well. ( Gives your guys special bonuses and an extra life )You have to keep fighting, keep getting items and leveling and pick your fights wisely. I also make sure I stack my guys with immunity items.
Getting confused or stunned or cursed yourself, sucks big time. All team comps work if you aren't doing Master, but Hunter, Scholar, Minstrel or even Hobo are the better choices because they have more speed than the other classes. Speed is very important because you not only go first but you get more turns than enemies.

Pair this with the reset weapons and you can lock the enemies out of even getting a turn at all. This isn't necessary or anything for Journeyman or lower if you don't like playing that way with those classes, it just makes it easier. If you are using a lot of Godsbeard per fight, you are just not doing enough damage and thus taking a lot yourself. The best defense is a good offense. If you can kill one enemy on turn 1 with all your characters attacking, you mitigate so much potential damage, especially if it's a very damaging or debuff-heavy enemy you focus.Every day that goes by, everything gets more expensive. I am not entirely sure how the enemy scaling is though, I think it's a combination of scaling to your party and the day modifier.
Certain dungeons are always certain levels though. It's kind of a mixed bag.Enemies target with their AoE at random, so your taunt doesn't have to be in the middle, but if they do choose to hit in the middle, that would make everyone involved take the least amount of AoE damage if he was there, yes.Just upgrade your weapons.
It may seem like you are spending a lot of gold on them, but the stronger you are and faster you kill, the less damage you take and need to heal. If it's still too hard, you can always adjust the game settings when you are making the game to lower the economy inflation cost, lower the chaos rate and increase the life count. You will of course recieve half the amount of lore books as a reward if you do this, but it may be worth it if you are having trouble. Make sure to spend your lore books too. Buying mini encounters and the landmarks and some of the weapons are very helpful in each subsequent game.
